Roma...the eternal city..

...dateline Roma 07:15 NZ 06:15

This is gonna look a bit weird..but anyway...I'm on a European keyboard..and I'm hitting some keys by memory....and the browser is in italian.
Right, what a great place this is.....We landed early yesterday morning and caught the bus to customs. Customs! Basically it took me 5 secs to clear customers and 45 mins to get my bag...basically we marched through customs showing our passport..but I don't think they cared, the chap didn't stamp it or anything. He started banging the desk to get Helen to hurry up because she hesitated. The baggage process was very slow, and we were surrounded by American pensioners with voices that could carry across a packed football stadium. Garret and I have a new question whenever we're unsure what to do... "what would an italian baggage handler do?"
We were ripped off by the dirty cab driver....they won't get us twice. Pretty tired really...so we crashed and burned yesterday. Today we visited Pantheon amoung other things....shame about the hole in the roof...(Mario...very sorry, but I think you missed a bit)..
Lovely church (there are 1 or 2 here) - one that was the Headquarters of the Jesuits, very interesting - money money!
OK...3 mins left in this place - we're off to dinner now, pizza or pasta. Talk more when I can find a wifi spot for my lappy.

Bottom line: When they say Roma is the eternal city..they're talking about the time it takes to get your luggage.
